We are looking for a Data Scientist for a project in the insurance industry
Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining statistical and machine learning models supporting actuarial functions.
- Analyzing large and complex datasets to generate actionable insights supporting decision-making processes.
- Conducting exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to improve model quality and interpretability.
- Supporting the automation and optimization of actuarial processes using modern data science tools and frameworks.
- Collaborating closely with actuaries, underwriters, and claims teams to translate business challenges into analytical solutions.
- Preparing presentations of results and recommendations in a way that is clear and understandable for technical audiences.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling.
- Good knowledge of machine learning methodology, predictive analytics, and statistical inference.
- Experience working with data processing tools (e.g. pandas, SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g. matplotlib, seaborn, ggplot2).
- Ability to work with code repositories.
- Analytical mindset: strong problem-solving skills and a passion for uncovering insights from data.
- Communication skills: ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of WTW pricing tools (Emblem, Radar).
- Knowledge of the insurance industry.
- Knowledge of SAS tools.
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
- Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
