Offer description We are looking for a Data Scientist for a project in the insurance industry
Responsibilities
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining statistical and machine learning models supporting actuarial functions.
  • Analyzing large and complex datasets to generate actionable insights supporting decision-making processes.
  • Conducting exploratory data analysis and feature engineering to improve model quality and interpretability.
  • Supporting the automation and optimization of actuarial processes using modern data science tools and frameworks.
  • Collaborating closely with actuaries, underwriters, and claims teams to translate business challenges into analytical solutions.
  • Preparing presentations of results and recommendations in a way that is clear and understandable for technical audiences.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Python for data analysis and modeling.
  • Good knowledge of machine learning methodology, predictive analytics, and statistical inference.
  • Experience working with data processing tools (e.g. pandas, SQL) and data visualization tools (e.g. matplotlib, seaborn, ggplot2).
  • Ability to work with code repositories.
  • Analytical mindset: strong problem-solving skills and a passion for uncovering insights from data.
  • Communication skills: ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

 

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of WTW pricing tools (Emblem, Radar).
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of SAS tools.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure)
